January 13, 2008 Some Area Back To Normalcy

The situation in Kenya is calm. Most of the people are back to their workplaces but this only applies to Nairobi, Central and eastern provinces. Normalcy is yet to return in Western, Rift Valley and Nyanza. The schools were to open today but with the calling of three days demonstrations from Wednesday by the opposition, the parents are reluctant to send their children to school due to security reasons. Thousands of displaced people are still camping in police stations, churches and schools. These people are depending on donations from well wishers for their survival. The children from these families may not report back to school as they are far from their schools. These families have lost all their belongings and have no where to go to.
